Cuvée Cristal Rosé 2007 from Roederer is an exceptional and rare cuvée.
It was in 1974, almost 200 years after the creation of Maison Louis Roederer and 100 years after the creation of Cristal, that this cuvée was created. A parcel of old Pinot Noir vines in Aÿ was chosen to produce this exceptional cuvée.
Sitting on a limestone bedrock and a unique clay-limestone soil, these vines have the particularity of reaching, in great years, an extraordinary ripeness of fruit associated with a crystalline and pure acidity perfectly corresponding to the Cristal style.
2007 was a warm year, which produced grapes of excellent ripeness.
Cristal Rosé 2007 is a blend of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, 15% of which is vinified in oak tuns. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out to preserve purity and freshness.
Cristal Rosé is a rosé champagne de saignée, obtained after cold maceration lasting 5 to 8 days. The dosage is 9.5 g/l.
It is a champagne with a light pink color and fine, lively bubbles.
On the nose, this complex cuvée evokes dried flowers, spices and candied citrus.
On the palate, Cristal Rosé 2007 Roederer is intense, concentrated and energetic. Notes of yellow fruit and orange zest are present, with a slight seductive sensation. The finish is long and persistent, amplified by the right dosage.
