René Geoffroy's Cuvée Volupté is the purest expression of the Cumières plots. The vines are on average 35 years old, lending elegance and finesse to this delicate champagne.
Made from Chardonnay (58%) and Pinot Noir (42%), Cuvée Volupté goes equally well with roast sea bass, goat's cheese or Parmesan. After a few years' cellaring, it will sublimate a duck foie gras.
The wine is vinified in the traditional way, using demi-muids to avoid malolactic fermentation.
The wine's deep yellow color has delicate golden reflections and a light effervescence.
On the nose, aromas of exotic fruits (lychee, pineapple, grapefruit) dominate, creating a pleasant freshness.
The delicate, silky palate reveals toasty notes balanced with subtle minerality.
