Cuvée Extra Brut Vintage 2008 from Maison Ployez-Jacquemart is a fine, fruity, sparkling champagne.
The 2008 vintage is one of the greatest of recent years, yet it got off to a rather poor start, with wet, gray weather. But a magnificent September produced grapes with an absolutely perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The 2008 vintage is one of those fine harvests that enable winemakers like Maison Ployez-Jacquemart to produce elegant, well-balanced wines.
This cuvée is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Meunier. It has been aged in our cellars for 8 years, including a minimum of 6 years on point. This traditional technique is used to limit contact with yeast, while retaining the benefits of ageing before disgorgement. As with all our vintages, it was disgorged as late as possible to preserve its freshness.
After more than 8 years in the Maison's cellars, Extra Brut Vintage 2008 is a streamlined, slender champagne, with bright fruit aromas and remarkable persistence. Extra-Brut is dosed at 3 g/L to preserve the purity of its aromas.
Extra Brut Vintage 2008 has a beautiful mousse and a greenish-gold, slightly amber color. The bouquet is fine, fruity, fresh and bright. On the palate, the wine is caressing, with a ripe flavor and a smooth, long finish.
