Clos des Goisses is Philipponnat's most prestigious cuvée. In its 2002 vintage, it is a champagne of powerful, gourmand aromas.
Clos des Goisses is an exceptional vineyard, an extremely steep, south-facing, walled plot. It lies on the Mareuil-sur-Aÿ terroir, one of the finest in Champagne.
A blend of 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Chardonnay, this is a champagne of character, fullness and unique intensity.
Partially vinified in wood, and aged under cork, Le Clos des Goisses 2002 is a low dosage champagne, which allows all its power and vinosity to express themselves.
Its deep golden color is enhanced by extremely fine bubbles.
On the nose, Le Clos des Goisses 2002 Philipponnat reveals notes of citrus and candied fruit on a beautiful freshness.
On the palate, it's a well-structured, well-balanced wine, evolving on fruity, creamy and intense notes.
This vinous cuvée is the perfect accompaniment to truffles, soft cheeses and even caviar.
