This Face Nord Rosé cuvée from Maison Pehu-Simonet is made by blending red wine vinified in barrels.
This champagne is composed of 80% Pinot Noir, including 5% red wine, and 20% Chardonnay. The grapes come from Verzenay Grand Cru, Verzy Grand Cru and Sillery. Like the Face Nord Brut cuvée, this one is also a blend of 80% base wine from the current year and 20% reserve wines from a solera started in 2005.
Vinification and aging take place in barrels (20%) and stainless steel vats (80%). The 5,000 bottles produced are then aged for over 36 months in the cellars of the Maison and dosed at 4 g/L after disgorging.
<pThis rosé champagne has a pale pink, crystalline color with a salmon-colored rim.The delicate nose reveals aromas of red berries, strawberry, raspberry, and cherry.
The first impressions on the palate are discreet tannins and sustained liveliness. The sensations are then particularly intense, revealing the typical characteristics of the wines used in the blend.
