Located in Courmas, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the Le Gall Champagne estate embodies a new generation of signature champagnes, driven by a demanding and deeply thoughtful vision. At the helm of the estate, Yann Le Gall and his partner Élodie have made a remarkable entry into the Champagne landscape with their first wine. The Le Gall estate now cultivates 2.85 hectares of vines, spread over 18 plots with varying exposures, all located in the Courmas terroir. Since 2017, the soils have been worked without herbicides, using a free and pragmatic approach, without dogma or restrictions. Here, the vines dictate the tempo: careful observation, constant adjustments, measured trials. Time is at the heart of the process, and nothing is ever rushed.
This philosophy is fully reflected in their first champagne, Le Canon des Le Gall. A 100% Meunier cuvée, made from the 2019 harvest. Vinification and aging are carried out exclusively in barrels, with a single guiding principle: taste. The very low dosage (1 g/l) was validated alongside the Chiquet brothers (Champagne Jacquesson), who were keen to support the couple's first steps. In the glass, Le Canon des Le Gall seduces with its controlled density, tension, and balance between structure, depth, and freshness. A Champagne wine of conviction, precise and sincere, which does not seek to impress but affirms a clear and lasting vision of champagne. A domaine to follow very closely for lovers of distinctive and committed champagnes.
