In magnum, Jacquesson's Aÿ Vauzelle Terme 2004 takes on an extra dimension. This particularly rare cuvée is magnified.
Part of Maison Jacquesson's Lieux-Dits collection, this champagne is made from grapes from the Vauzelle Terme plot in Aÿ, a mid-slope, south-facing parcel. The 30-acre plot is planted with 2,500 Pinot Noir vines, each around 30 years old.
Vinified in foudre and bottled in 2005, this cuvée was then patiently aged in the house cellars before being disgorged in February 2013 and dosed extremely lightly (1.5g/L). This cuvée was produced in 2360 bottles and 200 magnums.
This Cuvée Blanc de Noirs is astonishing in its power, fullness and finesse. A vinous champagne, with aromas of dried fruit, quince and sweet spices. A champagne of incredible volume, lining the palate with elegant aromas, carried by a silky, unctuous texture. The minerality is always present, elegant and noble, and imposes itself at the end of the mouth on an interminable finish.
A cuvée that can be enjoyed now or matured for a long time in the cellar.
