In the very best years the Jacquesson champagne house blend some of their top quality barrels of Grand Crus, adding a selection of the best parcels from their domain at Dizy, classed Premier Cru, to create a cuvee that is perfectly representative of that year’s harvest.
2002 was a year close to perfection in meteorological terms, producing grapes with a remarkable balance between maturity and acidity.
Following several tasting sessions of wine from different parcels, the cellar-master chose the Chardonnay from parcels at Avize (36%) and Chouilly (7%), plus Pinot Noir from Dizy, Aÿ and Mareuil sur Aÿ for a bottling of only 35.280 bottles in June 2003.
The 2002 from Jacquesson is ample and rich with brioche, honey and dried fruit flavors.
The texture is smooth, silky with soft tannins.
A magnificent cuvee for connoisseurs.
