The Montagne Nord cuvée, formerly known as Fins Bois, produced by Hugues Godmé, is a champagne vinified 80% in oak barrels. This vinification process brings richness and indulgence to the champagne.
This cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroirs of Verzy and Verzenay. 80% of the wines in this blend are aged in wood to gain richness and complexity. Once bottled, the cuvée is aged for at least 72 months in the cellars of the house to develop its aromatic palette.
This cuvée is unblended, allowing all the tension of the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims to shine through.
Montagne Nord by Hugues Godmé is a broad, powerful champagne on the palate, underscored by a fresh finish with lovely bitter notes.
