The 2013 Héméra cuvée from Champagne Henriot pays tribute to the house's six founding crus: Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly-Champagne, Avize, Chouilly, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Presented in a wooden box, this prestigious cuvée is an ode to the greatness of the Champagne terroir.
Since its founding in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, the house has been committed to revealing the quintessence of its terroirs. The Héméra cuvée is named after the Greek goddess of the day, a symbol of light, and reflects this philosophy of clarity and precision. Each vintage is a unique interpretation of the six historic crus, vinified with rigor and aged for a long time to achieve rare complexity.
The blend is perfectly balanced:
The year 2013 was marked by contrasting weather conditions: cold and wet in the spring, sunny but stormy in the summer, with a late harvest in October. These conditions produced grapes that ripened slowly, with refreshing acidity and remarkable aromatic richness. Héméra 2013 stands out as a vintage of precision, elegance, and chiseled freshness.
Made exclusively from Grands Crus, this cuvée is aged for a minimum of 10 years in the historic cellars of the Henriot house. The very low dosage (3.5 g/L) makes it an Extra-Brut that respects the purity of the grapes. The long aging process confers complexity, texture, and a perfect balance between tension and roundness.
Héméra 2013 has a bright, luminous, and elegant golden color, enlivened by a fine and regular effervescence.
The nose seduces with a refined and complex aromatic palette: fresh and candied citrus fruits, lemony notes, chalky minerality, and smoky touches. Upon opening, nuances of toast, almonds, and dried fruits appear.
On the palate, this cuvée stands out with its straightforward and precise structure. Its mouthwatering tension balances its rich and full-bodied texture. The lingering finish is supported by fine tannins and citrus notes, bringing elegance and depth.
Store the bottle in its box in a cool, dark place at a stable temperature of 10 to 12°C. The box protects the bottle from light and makes it an ideal gift.
Thanks to its long aging, Héméra 2013 has an aging potential of 15 to 20 years. Over time, it will develop notes of honey, toasted hazelnut, and buttered brioche, while preserving its mineral tension.
Serve this champagne between 9 and 12°C in tulip or white wine glasses to reveal its full aromatic complexity. The elegant box enhances its presentation for special occasions.
