Description

The Rive Gauche cuvée from Gamet is a champagne that combines richness and indulgence with great freshness. It is a more complex cuvée than its Rive Droite counterpart.

This cuvée is made from the house vineyard located on the left bank of the Marne, in the Mardeuil terroir. The soil is mainly clay, which brings aromatic expression, but also chalk and flint, which give the grapes a beautiful minerality.

The Rive Gauche Gamet cuvée is a blend of almost equal parts of the three Champagne grape varieties (Pinot Meunier 35%, Pinot Noir 35%, Chardonnay 30%). The wines are aged in stainless steel vats, with a small portion aged in oak barrels. Aging in two different containers adds complexity to the blend. Rive Gauche spends at least two years in the cellars of the house to develop its aromatic palette before being offered for tasting.

This champagne has a golden color with fine, lively bubbles.

On the nose, Rive Gauche offers rich, indulgent initial notes that evoke ripe fruit and pastries. It is a flattering nose that invites you to quickly discover the palate.

On the palate, Rive Gauche starts with a delicate attack, which is not lacking in tension despite the richness discovered on the nose. In the mid-palate, the wine becomes rounder and more charming, revealing notes of spices and ripe yellow fruits. On the finish, beautiful bitter notes come to the fore, marking a cuvée that is particularly pleasant to drink.

Rive Gauche is best served as an aperitif, with appetizers, or at the start of a meal.
