Grande Sendrée Rosé is a gourmet champagne, the perfect accompaniment to a cocktail party or meal.
This cuvée takes its name from a parcel of land covered in ashes after the fire that ravaged Urville in 1836. As a result of a spelling error when copying the land register, Sendrée is now spelt with an "s" rather than a "c".
2006 was a year of alternating rain and hot spells. Harvesting took place in a very favorable climate, resulting in grapes of excellent ripeness and acidity.
La Grande Sendrée Rosé 2006 Drappier is a rosé de saignée, a blend of 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay, one-third of which was aged in oak foudre for 9 months, while the other two-thirds of the cuvée was aged in stainless steel tanks.
The dosage is Extra Brut, around 6g/l.
The champagne has a pale pink color, dotted with tiny bubbles.
The nose is very delicate, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and violet, with a touch of brioche.
The palate is round and supple, with notes of ripe red fruit. The finish is superb, full of freshness and finesse.
