Grande Sendrée Rosé 2005 is the prestige cuvee from the house of Drappier, truly the quintessence of their art.
It’s a cuvee that derives its name from the parcel “La Grande Sendrée » which was covered in ash (cinders) after the terrible fire in 1838 that ravaged the village of Urville, where Drappier are established, and is only produced in the very greatest of years.
It concentrates all the skills of this renowned house, using grapes from the oldest vines in the best vineyards of Drappier’s domain.
It is made using the free-run technique, where the grapes are left to macerate for several hours, or even several days, in order to extract the deep pink color and powerful aromas desired.
With its skillful marriage of citrus and red fruits with spices, it is delectable with red fruit based desserts.
Drappier Grande Sendrée Rosé 2004 opens with fragrances of red fruits and small red berries before developing spicier notes.
The palate is vinous, with good tension and texture.
Clean, rich aromas with just a touch of acidity lead to the peppery cinnamon finish.
