The 2016 Monts Ferrés is a Blanc de Blancs. The vineyard benefits from typical chalky soil, giving the wine a chiseled minerality and remarkable tension. The "Monts Ferrés" plot reveals all its uniqueness here thanks to an artisanal approach that respects the terroir.
Vinification is carried out entirely in Burgundy oak barrels that are at least five years old, ensuring pure expression without any marked oak influence. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, thus preserving the natural freshness of the Chardonnay. After racking, the wine undergoes a long aging process of six years on lees in the bottle before disgorging in July 2023.
The dosage is minimal, at only 0.6 g/L (Extra Brut), highlighting the purity and verticality of the wine.
The Monts Ferrés 2016 has a bright, light yellow color with green highlights, promising great vitality.
The nose offers superb aromatic intensity, with notes of crisp nashi pear, mirabelle plum, candied citrus, and an elegant hint of buttered pastry and honey. Mineral nuances of oyster shell and roots round out this complex bouquet.
On the palate, this champagne displays a broad and precise attack, supported by vibrant acidity and ultra-fine bubbles. The structure is full-bodied, salty and mineral, offering a long and persistent finish, marked by purity and energy.
The price of a bottle of Champagne Monts Ferrés 2016 is 179,95 €. Produced in very limited quantities, this cuvée seduces with its purity, depth, and incredible aromatic precision.
