The Coteaux Champenois En Vieux Fombrés 2019 from Maison Doyard is an expressive and generous white wine.
This cuvée is a still white wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown on a single plot called "Vieux Fombrés," located halfway up the hillside in the Premier Cru terroir of Vertus on the Côte des Blancs.
The 2019 vintage was demanding for winemakers, with nature alternating between extremes throughout the year. However, the end of the ripening period took place in very good conditions, with cool nights allowing for slow ripening and the preservation of beautiful acidity. This year's Chardonnays offer wines of very high quality.
The grapes are vinified and aged entirely in Burgundy oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is blocked in order to balance the wine and preserve its beautiful tension.
This Coteaux Champenois Blanc En Vieux Fombrés 2019 from Maison Doyard is a white wine of great finesse, with lovely notes of white fruit.
