Champagne Doyard's signature Clos de l'Abbaye 2014 is a remarkable champagne. It's a cuvée from a single parcel, located in Vertus, right next to the Doyard house.
This plot is unique in more ways than one. This old vineyard, planted in 1956, offers low yields, but very concentrated wines. It's an early-ripening plot, thanks to its exposure and limestone soil, but also to the walls that surround the Clos. These walls store heat during the day and release it at night.
Clos de l'Abbaye Doyard is a champagne in a class of its own, vinified entirely in oak barrels, with blocked malolactic fermentation.
It is an extremely rare cuvée, with just over 1,000 bottles produced each vintage.
Clos de l'Abbaye 2014 is a champagne that will resonate beautifully with gourmet dishes.
