The Shaar Adonay, La Porte de Dieu 2018 is a Coteaux Champenois Blanc of rare expressiveness.
The story goes that in 1239, Thibaut IV went on a crusade and brought back vine shoots that were growing along the gate of the Tower of David, also known as "Shaar Adonay," meaning "Gate of God" in Hebrew and pronounced "Shardonnay."
This is a still white wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes from the Les Riceys terroir. The grapes are vinified and aged in oak barrels.
This white wine has a pale gold color, clear and bright. The nose is elegant and mineral, and the palate is delicately floral. A long mineral finish reveals remarkable finesse.
