La Chapelle du Clos from Maison Cazals is a lively and intense wine. Like its big sister, the Clos Cazals, La Chapelle du Clos is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyard of the same name.
Clos Cazals is divided into three parts: a plot of old vines dating back to 1957, a plot dating back to 2001, and another, which has a small chapel, planted in 1989. La Chapelle du Clos is made from grapes grown on this last plot.
The terroir of Oger, where Clos Cazals is located, is unique in that it is very chalky and produces grapes with a lively character. The wines often need to be aged for a few years to soften their vigor and reveal their best qualities.
La Chapelle du Clos 2017 was vinified in stainless steel vats to highlight the purity, freshness, and roundness of the Oger terroir. A small portion of the wine was aged in oak barrels to add a touch of complexity.
This is a full-bodied and expressive Blanc de Blancs champagne with fruity and indulgent notes.
