The Tecta Silva cuvée produced by Antoine Chevalier is a Blanc de Blancs champagne with a beautiful aromatic expression.
Based in the Coteaux Vitryats region, where the soil is predominantly chalk, Antoine Chevalier owns a mosaic of plots in 3 villages, all of which are planted with Chardonnay.
The 2018 vintage is the second for Antoine Chevalier, who took over the family vineyards and decided to convert them to organic viticulture, as well as vinifying his own cuvées.
The 2018 campaign got off to a very good start, but was brutally brought to a halt by hail, which ravaged 100% of Antoine's vineyard in Vitry en Perthois. However, his parcel "Les Renardes" in Couvrot was spared and was able to continue to flourish in this vintage representative of the Champagne climate. This is a massal selection located on a parcel facing south-east and on clayey-chalky soil.
These grapes are vinified and matured partly in stainless steel vats and partly in oak barrels, bringing freshness and purity from the vats, and sapidity from the oak barrels.
After spending almost 4 years in the House cellars, the cuvée is offered for tasting with a very light dosage, resulting in a balanced wine with lovely tension and a charming exotic expression.
Only 2327 bottles of this confidential cuvée have been produced.
