In the 1920s, across the Atlantic, Prohibition hampered the consumption of wines and spirits. In France, and in Paris in particular, the spirit of the Roaring Twenties instilled an effervescence that perfectly suited Castelnau, then served in Montparnasse on the legendary tables of the Dôme and the Coupole. The 1930s marked the international expansion of the House. Castelnau was exported to Milan, Rotterdam, Dakar, and Quebec, among other places. Peru and New Jersey were, for a time, among the unexpected and welcoming destinations. Traveling to various faraway places, the House opened up to the world.
