The Plus de Bulles website was established in 2007 by Marie Servagnat, a 34 year-old native of the champagne region. Her idea was simple : to propose the best champagnes at the best prices.
In 2007 the site listed only 50 references, mainly from small producers, but over the years the offer has been progressively enriched with the great names of the region, whether it be from the eminent champagne houses (Veuve Clicquot, Perrier-Jouët, Pol Roger, Moët & Chandon, Bollinger...) or from talented independents, some of which are exclusive to Plus de Bulles, such as Thevenet-Delouvin, Marc Hébrart or Janisson & Fils.
Now the site offers a choice of over 600 champagnes and with the concurrence of Patrick Borras (see below) we continue to add our new discoveries.
The Plus de Bulles team continues in its relentless quest of the very best producers in Champagne, those whose passion is the production of cuvees of the highest quality.
Marie Servagnat : Director of Plus de Bulles, Marie Servagnat created the company in 2007.
« The idea of starting a site for online sales of champagne came quite naturally to me since I was already regularly sourcing good value cuvees for friends and colleagues. Thanks to my father and my grandfather who were both champagne brokers, I know both the champagne makers and the Great Champagne Houses very well. »
Today Marie Servagnat oversees the development of the society and its new services.
Patrick Borras : Head Sommelier of the three star Michelin restaurant Pierre Gagnaire . Patrick Borras joined Plus-de-Bulles in 2009.
Pierre Gagnaire is one of the most creative chefs of the moment. In his three star restaurant in Paris, Pierre Gagnaire, aided by Patrick, created a sensational pairing of a Dom Ruinart 1998 with stuffed rolls of fattened Bresse chicken.
Patrick is charged with selecting the producers’ champagnes, evaluating them and writing up the tasting notes that you can find on the site.
But it goes further than that, since Patrick has the right to veto the champagnes sold on the site (and he has already !). If in his opinion a champagne is not of the standard demanded by Plus de Bulles then it is withdrawn. This is a measure of our engagement and a real guarantee of quality for all the champagnes proposed on the site, and an assurance for our clients that they can buy from this site with confidence.
Michel de Guilhermier : After completing his studies at the HEC Paris Business School, Michel de Guilhermier began his career at Bain, joined the business development unit at Pepsi, then became director of ProviFruits which he later left to found Burlington France, followed by Photoways.com which under his direction became the premier European photo development site.
Seduced by the Plus de Bulles project, Michel de Guilhermier entered the share capital of the business in 2009. He shares his experience and his market vision with Marie Servagnat.
