    Description

The cuvee Les 7 from Laherte Frères is a truly unique and individual champagne which is born of some of the forgotten grape varieties of Champagne. Laherte discovered these rare varieties growing on some of their oldest established parcels, and decided to continue with their cultivation in order to make a champagne which would resemble those made 250 years ago.

So in the cuvee Les 7 we find four ancient varieties : (10% Fromenteau, 8% Arbanne, 17% Pinot Blanc, 15% Petit Meslier) plus the three traditional Champagne varieties (14 % Pinot Noir, 18% Chardonnay, and 18% Pinot Meunier). All seven varieties are cultivated at Chavot with its limestone clay terroir and chalky limestone sub-soil.

The cuvee Les 7 from Laherte Frères requires the grapes to be at perfect maturity, and the juice is matured in barrels of at least 10 years of age.

The blend associates 60% of the current vintage with 40% reserve wine from previous years ; a perpetual reserve that was started in 2005.

Les 7 is a singular cuvee, very lightly dosed, with clean cut aromas, precise and mineral which will find its best expression with elaborate shellfish dishes.
