Martine and Eric Rodez own 15 acres at Ambonnay in the Côte des grands noirs. After 10 years of analysing his soils and testing different vineyard management techniques Eric turned his attention to the protection of his vines and the environment. In 2009 he decided to adopt organic and biodynamic viticultural practices. And in 2012 he was awarded the certification ‘High Environmental Value’ for his domain, the very first French agricultural domain to receive this accolade. The champagnes made by Eric Rodez reflect the nature of his vines – generous like the Blanc de Blancs, a full-bodied, ample and luxuriant champagne of great finesse.
